Jaco du Toit was born in Boksburg, South Africa. He was educated at Pretoria Boys High School were he graduated with top honors. Whilst at school, Jaco showed a keen interest in visual arts, story telling and film as a member and later head of the PBHS Film Club. Jaco went on to study a BA in Film Arts at the Open Window Institute where the majored in Screenwriting.
